Walking Along Side a Brother

Weirdest thing happened to me today. As I was putting my lifeguarding stuff away in the locker room my best friend from the dorms appeared out of no where. So I preceded to make small talk about Easter when he led on to the fact that he had broken up with his long term girlfriend last week. I was shocked. I thought their relationship was incredible. They were definitely in love, although I hadn't seen them together for 6 months or so, I thought it was crazy. So I persisted in inquiring about things. He instigated it but was still very shaken up by everything. It took me a second to realize how affected he was by things, but he asked if we could meet up and talk about it at a different time. And that's when it clicked, I felt like I was there to be able to use my experiences over the past month and the stories I've heard and the things I've learned to help this guy. We've hung out a minimal amount of times since last year but the important thing is that I'll be here for him now. On top of all the things I've learn since Abbie and my break-up, I am so happy that this experience will be able to help me relate with this guy and just walk along side him and help him out. He lives with the rest of the guys from the dorms and I can't see them being a very big help so I am very happy that he asked me to meet up with him. I'm excited to see what he has to say and I hope I can help him.
